Jay Pritzker established Hyatt when he bought the Hyatt House hotel next to LAX International Airport in 1957. It was made public in the 1960s before going back to private in 1982. It went public again in 2009 and is currently traded on the NYSE with the ticker H.
Presently, Hyatt Hotels Corporation is a worldwide hospitality enterprise encompassing 14 brands and over 1,100 properties across over 70 nations.
Hyatt World Elite Status Levels & Perquisites
There are four status tiers in World of Hyatt. The first level you get when you join the program is called Member, and it's the lowest tier.
Discoverist, Explorist, and Globalist are the elite ranks. The majority of members obtain status by accumulating more nights than base points. After ten nights, you will become a Discoverist, an Explorist after thirty, and a Globalist after sixty.
The advantages associated with each level are outlined here. You'll see that the benefits of globalism are far superior to those of the others.
How to Compile Points for World of Hyatt
Staying at one of Hyatt's properties is the obvious way to accrue Points. For every $1 you spend on the property, you will receive five base points. In addition to base points, Hyatt Elite members will receive bonus points:
Member: Five basic points for every $1 spent.
Discoverist: 5.5 base points (10% Bonus) for every dollar spent.
Explorer: 6 base points (20% Bonus) for every dollar spent.
Globalist: 30% Bonus with 6.5 base points for every dollar spent
Several Rooms. Up to three (3) rooms per night—the member's room and two (2) extra rooms—may be booked through points by the same hotel or resort. In addition to paying an Eligible Rate for each room that is relevant, the Member must be a registered visitor and occupy at least one room.
Earn points by scheduling meetings and events
For every $1 spent on meetings and catered events, earn one additional point. Any conference, meeting, get-together, or other event that involves the use of at least ten (10) guest rooms for a fee on the same night (or several nights) is considered a qualifying meeting. A conference, meeting, get-together, or other event that does not meet the minimum number of guest rooms needed to qualify as a qualifying meeting but does include the rental of a meeting room or other event space, as well as the purchase of banqueted or catered food and beverages from the Hyatt hotel or resort hosting the event, qualifies as a qualified catered event.
